Our members only swim lessons are offered four days a week for five weeks. The 2025 season will start on June 9 and run through July 11.

Listed below are several of the key skills that are taught in each level and need to be mastered before passing on to the next level. Other skills are taught in each level, as well.
* Your child may be moved to a different level based on instructor’s evaluation.
Helps participants become more comfortable in the water. Parent must accompany and the child must be potty trained.
Fully submerge face for 3 seconds
Supported front and back float
Bubble blowing
Supported kicking on front and back
Helps participants continue to feel comfortable in the water and begin to move on their own.
Blow bubbles through mouth and nose/Submerge face for 3-5 seconds
Bobbing (rhythmic breathing)
Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects
Front and back glides/front and back floats
Recover to vertical position from a front float or glide and back float or glide
Roll from front to back and back to front
Finning arm action on back
Flutter kick on front and back
Combined arm and leg actions on front and back
Explore deep water with support
Gives participants success with fundamental skills.
Bobbing while moving toward safety
Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects
Front and back glides and back float
Change direction of travel while swimming on front or back
Tread water using arm and leg actions
Dive from side of pool in kneeling or compact position
Demonstrate prone glide with push-off and back glide with push-off
Front crawl with good technique at least 10 yards
Back crawl with good technique at least 10 yards
Elementary backstroke kick 10 yards
Treading water
Builds on the skills in Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper waters.
Standing front dive
Elementary backstroke 10 yards
Front crawl 25 yards with rotary breathing
Back crawl 25 yards
Breaststroke kick 10 yards
Scissors kick 10 yards
Tread water 2 minutes
Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills.
Standing dive from a spring board
Demonstrate a long shallow dive
Swim under water
Front crawl 50 yards with rotary breathing
Back crawl 50 yards
Elementary backstroke 25 yards
Butterfly-dolphin kick 10 yards
Sidestroke 10 yards
Breaststroke 10 yards
Front crawl and backstroke open turns
Tread water 2 minutes using 2 different kicks
Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
